Walter Mazzarri was dismissed, and Monza managed to secure a Serie A point after a goalless draw against Napoli in Naples.

Ten Hag is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate with the new co-owners, Ineos. The Dutch manager is excited about the potential that this partnership could bring to Napoli.

In their recent Serie A clash against Monza, Napoli were unable to find the back of the net, resulting in a goalless draw. However, they were fortunate not to suffer defeat as Matteo Pessina missed a second-half penalty for the visitors.

The first half of the match was relatively uneventful, with both teams struggling to create scoring opportunities. However, Napoli began to dominate play as the game progressed. They came close to taking the lead when Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa connected with a cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but his shot was saved by Michele Di Gregorio.

Just before halftime, Kvaratskhelia himself had a chance to score, but his effort narrowly missed the far corner of the net.

The second half started with Napoli wasting a golden opportunity as Amir Rrahmani failed to convert a free header from Piotr Zielinski’s set-piece.

Surprisingly, it was Monza who had the best chance of the match when they were awarded a penalty. The decision was somewhat fortunate as Juan Jesus unintentionally handled a shot from substitute Andrea Colpani. Fortunately for Napoli, Alex Meret made a comfortable save from Pessina’s weak penalty kick.

With this draw, Napoli currently sit in seventh place in the Serie A standings, while Monza find themselves in 11th position.
