Udinese Stuns AC Milan with 1-0 Victory at San Siro

Udinese’s Argentine midfielder Roberto Pereyra was the hero of the day as he celebrated with his teammates after scoring a crucial penalty in their match against AC Milan at the iconic San Siro stadium in Milan on November 4, 2023. The victory was a shocker as Udinese defeated AC Milan 1-0, securing their first win of the season. This defeat also marked AC Milan’s fourth winless game under the management of Stefano Pioli.

In a lackluster first half, Udinese had the upper hand with better chances. Even in the second half, it was the visitors who came closest to breaking the deadlock. Finally, Udinese took the lead when Festy Ebosele was fouled in the box, resulting in a penalty. Pereyra, who had missed an earlier golden opportunity, made no mistake this time and calmly slotted the ball into the net.

Despite having the majority of possession, AC Milan struggled to create clear-cut chances. Their lack of cutting edge was evident as they failed to find the equalizer. Credit must be given to Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, who put on an impressive performance to deny Milan any chance of a comeback.

As the final whistle blew, the sound of whistles from the stands told the story of AC Milan’s disappointment. Meanwhile, Udinese celebrated a historic victory, their first against Milan at the San Siro stadium in seven years.
