Newcastle United and Barcelona are both vying for the signatures of David de Gea and Aaron Ramsdale.

Barcelona is currently exploring their choices for a fresh goalkeeper, and they have shown interest in both Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale and David de Gea, who was previously with Manchester United. This is due to the fact that their current goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, is injured and will undergo back surgery. The Sun has mentioned that Barcelona might extend an opportunity to Ramsdale or De Gea to step in for Ter Stegen. It is worth noting that Ramsdale is presently Arsenal’s top choice, and manager Mikel Arteta is adamant about retaining him at least until the summer. However, it is possible that De Gea, who is currently not tied to any club, could be swayed more easily to leave.

At the same time, Arteta is not dismissing the idea of selling Ramsdale in January. According to The Mirror, although Arteta wants Ramsdale to continue at Arsenal, he did not give assurance that the goalkeeper would not be transferred. Since David Raya’s loan from Brentford and subsequent takeover of the starting position, Ramsdale’s future has been questioned. There are rumors connecting him to a potential move to Newcastle, as they are in need of a goalkeeper due to Nick Pope’s shoulder injury. According to Arteta, it is not clear whether Ramsdale will continue his career at Arsenal.

In a surprising development, David de Gea, the former Manchester United goalkeeper, is reportedly open to engaging in talks with Newcastle United. The Mail states that De Gea, who has been a free agent since his departure from United in June, is receptive to the prospect of joining Newcastle for the latter part of the season. This comes after Nick Pope suffered a shoulder dislocation, which is anticipated to sideline him until April. De Gea has declined various offers since leaving United, but he is now more inclined to contemplate a potential move to Newcastle if they approach him. De Gea has the freedom to join the club whenever he wants, as long as the financial demands are reasonable.

According to The Telegraph, Bayern Munich’s attempt to acquire Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha may encounter competition from several Premier League teams. Although Palhinha was on the verge of joining Bayern on the last day of the summer transfer window, the German club still has their sights set on him. Nevertheless, there are at least two Premier League clubs that have expressed interest in the Portuguese player, who has made a strong impression since joining Fulham in July 2022.
