Erik ten Hag is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with Ineos, the new co-owners of Manchester United.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expressed his excitement about working with the club’s new co-owners, Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc, who will be taking control of footballing matters alongside Jim Ratcliffe. Despite not having met the new co-owners yet due to a busy Christmas schedule, Ten Hag stated that he is looking forward to collaborating with them.
Speaking about the new ownership structure, Ten Hag said, “Ineos wants to work with me, and I want to work with them. The schedule has been hectic, so I haven’t had the chance to have a conversation with them yet, but I believe it’s a positive development.”
United’s recent form has been disappointing, with the team currently sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table and failing to progress to the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League. However, they managed to turn things around in their recent match against Aston Villa, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to secure a 3-2 victory.
Once the Premier League ratifies the initial purchase, the Ineos trio will be able to take charge of day-to-day business at United. Brailsford was already present in the stands at Old Trafford to witness the team’s triumph over Aston Villa. Ten Hag dismissed the notion that the presence of the proposed new club director had affected the team’s performance, emphasizing that the focus is always on winning.
After a busy December, United will have a relatively lighter schedule in January, with a maximum of three matches to play. However, if they lose their FA Cup third-round encounter against Wigan Athletic on January 8, they will only have two games to contend with.
