Vincent Kompany is looking to spark a revival in Bayern Munich’s performance.
Vincent Kompany, the former Burnley manager, has expressed his desire for his Bayern Munich side to play with aggression during his official unveiling on Thursday. Kompany, who was joined by Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and director of sport Max Eberl at the Allianz Arena, replaces the outgoing Thomas Tuchel after the club struggled to find a suitable replacement.
Speaking at the unveiling, Kompany emphasized his upbringing in Anderlecht’s academy and his belief in the importance of teamwork and courage. He stated, “I want my players to have courage, I want us to be aggressive. We want to keep that up for entire games.”
Eberl echoed Kompany’s sentiments, expressing his satisfaction with the appointment and stating, “As FC Bayern, we want to be dominant and aggressive. We’ve found one of the most interesting coaches in Europe.”
Kompany also spoke about his motivation and goals for the team, stating, “I’m extremely motivated every day and have the goal of making the lads better. Bayern is a great club, I want to take everyone with me on this journey. We want to win every game, always.”
Kompany’s connection with former Bayern player Leroy Sane was also highlighted, with the new boss expressing his intention to bring out the best in every player.
Despite some eyebrows being raised at his appointment due to Burnley’s relegation this year, Kompany remains confident in his abilities and his coaching philosophy. He stated, “I have a clear vision and will also implement it here in Germany. I’ve stayed the same. That’s why I have no plans to change here either.”
Overall, Kompany’s unveiling as Bayern Munich’s new manager showcased his determination to instill aggression and teamwork in his players, as well as his confidence in his coaching abilities. With his connection to former Bayern player Leroy Sane and his experience working with Pep Guardiola, Kompany is poised to make a significant impact at the club.
