Ruben Amorim plans to discuss Garnacho’s response to being substituted in the first half during the thrilling victory against Ipswich Town.

**Amorim to Address Garnacho’s Reaction After Early Substitution**

Ruben Amorim has confirmed that he will have a conversation with Alejandro Garnacho regarding the young winger’s reaction to being substituted just before half-time during Manchester United’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

Garnacho was the unfortunate player to make way for defender Noussair Mazraoui after Patrick Dorgu received a red card just two minutes before the break. Instead of taking his place on the bench on a dreary, rain-soaked evening in Manchester, Garnacho opted to head straight down the tunnel, never to return.

When asked about Garnacho’s response to the substitution, Amorim explained, “It was cold and wet. The thinking was that we would play 5-3-1. That is a risk because he (Garnacho) is the one who can play one-v-one in pace. But I felt the team was okay, in control of the game and almost at half-time. Then we made the substitution. We had to choose someone to go out. We had to think about someone to go out so it was my choice.”

Interestingly, Garnacho, alongside Marcus Rashford, was dropped from the squad shortly after Amorim’s appointment due to concerns over their perceived lack of effort in training. While the 20-year-old has since regained his place in the team, Rashford found himself loaned out to Aston Villa during the January transfer window.

“You are making a connection with Rashford, right?” Amorim remarked. “What I’m saying is that I’m going to talk obviously with Garnacho about that, so I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”

The match itself was a rollercoaster of emotions for United fans. The hosts fell behind early in the fourth minute due to a defensive mix-up between Dorgu and goalkeeper Andre Onana, allowing Jaden Philogene to score a simple tap-in. However, United responded with a Sam Morsy own goal and a strike from Matthijs de Ligt, taking a 2-1 lead before conceding another soft goal to end the first half level at 2-2, all while down to ten men.

Despite the setback, Amorim’s side displayed remarkable resilience in the second half. Harry Maguire headed United back into the lead just two minutes after the restart. The hosts managed to hold on for a vital three points, climbing above Everton into 14th place and alleviating any immediate relegation fears.

“I’m not frustrated,” Amorim told TNT Sports after the match. “Of course, with the situations of the game you get a little frustrated because we were controlling the game. We suffered a goal from one mistake, and that can happen. But from the first moment, I felt the players were fine; we were trying to play. We scored two goals, and then the sending off changed the game a little bit. But the fight that the guys showed, and especially our fans, helped us a lot. I think we fully deserved the three points.”
