PSG moves closer to winning the Ligue 1 title with a 4-1 victory over Lyon, thanks to Goncalo Ramos scoring two impressive goals.
In a thrilling display of football, Paris Saint-Germain’s Portuguese forward, Goncalo Ramos, stole the show as he celebrated scoring his team’s third goal during their clash against Lyon in the French L1 football match.
Despite the absence of UEFA Champions League heroes Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, PSG dominated the game, securing a resounding 4-1 victory. All five goals were scored in the first half, leaving Lyon stunned.
The league leaders wasted no time in asserting their dominance, finding themselves 2-0 up within just six minutes. The first half was a spectacle, with a total of 20 attempts on goal. Pierre Sage, Lyon’s determined player, tried to take the game to PSG but ultimately fell short.
Lyon’s attacking approach proved to be their downfall, as PSG capitalized on their defensive vulnerabilities. Although Ernest Nuamah managed to score for Lyon with a powerful shot from outside the box, PSG responded with several close attempts and goals.
Bradley Barcola showcased an impressive performance but failed to find the back of the net. Meanwhile, Goncalo Ramos shone brightly, scoring two goals, while Lucas Beraldo secured his first goal of the season. Additionally, Nemanja Matic’s own-goal opened the scoring for PSG.
The second half was relatively uneventful, with PSG comfortably maintaining their lead. However, Monaco’s 2-0 victory over Brest earlier in the day means that PSG will have to wait at least another week to clinch the Ligue 1 title. Nevertheless, they remain on track to secure the title at their home ground, the Parc des Princes, next week against Le Havre, regardless of Monaco’s performance.
