Owen Hargreaves believes that Bayern Munich was disappointed by mistakes made by the ‘aggressive’ Kim Min-jae.
Kim Min-Jae’s errors proved costly for Bayern Munich as they drew 2-2 with Real Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final. Former Bayern midfielder Owen Hargreaves criticized the South Korean defender for his “aggressive” mistakes that led to “avoidable” goals for Real Madrid.
Hargreaves highlighted Kim’s positioning for Vinicius Junior’s opener and his conceding of a penalty as key moments in the match. He urged Bayern to learn from their mistakes and tighten up their defense in the second leg. Despite the errors, Hargreaves believes that Bayern, with their attacking prowess, can still win the tie.
Bayern started the game strongly, dominating possession and creating numerous chances. However, they fell behind in the first half. The game turned around in the second half with Leroy Sane’s thunderbolt and Harry Kane’s penalty putting Bayern in the lead.
Hargreaves praised Bayern’s performance but cautioned that Real Madrid only need one moment to change the course of the tie. He acknowledged that Bayern have shown the ability to produce big moments and have players like Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, and Rodrygo who can win games.
The second leg will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid on May 8th.
