Mohamed Salah rejects chance to participate in Paris 2024, Manchester United set to secure signing of talented Slovakian youngster.

Salah Rejects Olympic Opportunity

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has declined the chance to represent Egypt at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, as reported by The Mirror. The 32-year-old forward will instead report back to his club duties this weekend as Liverpool prepares for a pre-season tour in the United States.

This decision is seen as an early success for new Liverpool boss Arne Slot. Egypt Olympic boss Rugero Micali had hoped to persuade Salah to play in Paris as one of the three over-23 age players allowed in each squad. However, Salah’s absence would have meant missing most of Liverpool’s pre-season, including their US tour, leading him to decline the opportunity.

Salah, who is in the final year of his Liverpool contract, will join his teammates for pre-season training this weekend and will fully participate in the club’s tour of America. Liverpool is scheduled to face Real Betis in Pittsburgh on July 27, Arsenal in Philadelphia on July 31, and Manchester United in South Carolina on August 3.

Man Utd Nears Signing of Slovakian Teenager

Manchester United is closing in on the signing of Slovakian wonderkid Samuel Lusale from Crystal Palace, according to The Mirror. The Red Devils are set to secure the 16-year-old winger’s services.

Lusale played in Slovakia’s three group games at the Under-17 European Championship in May and was part of Palace’s FA Youth Cup squad last season. He joined Palace at the age of 13 and is already represented by Roc Nation, the talent agency founded by rapper Jay-Z. Lusale is described on Roc Nation’s website as “a quick, dynamic winger who is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking players in the UK at under-16 level.”

Napoli Reduces Osimhen’s Price

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could be available for approximately £86 million this summer, as reported by the Metro. Several clubs, including Chelsea, have been linked with the Nigeria international, who has a release clause of £110.8 million. However, no deal has materialized thus far.

Napoli is keen to pursue Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku but needs to offload a player to make it happen. “Napoli have told Chelsea that they are willing to lower their asking price for Victor Osimhen,” writes the Metro. “The Serie A club has agreed to let Osimhen leave this summer, but their president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, is holding out for a team to trigger the Nigeria international’s €130m (£110.8m) clause.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain have expressed interest, but no one has met Napoli’s demand. Napoli has engaged in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Lukaku, and Chelsea is now willing to accept a lower fee for the 31-year-old in the region of €25m (£21.1m) to facilitate the transfer. Napoli has indicated that they would be open to reducing their valuation of Osimhen to €100m (£84.6m), but Chelsea still considers this figure too high, as they had agreed on a £42m fee with Aston Villa for Colombian striker Jhon Duran last month.”
