Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all competing to sign Brazilian teenager Gustavo Nunes in a fierce bidding war.
Gustavo Nunes, the young Brazilian talent from Gremio, has caught the attention of Manchester United, according to The Sun. The 18-year-old forward is now being pursued by several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
Manchester United recently sent a scout to Brazil to watch Nunes in action during Gremio’s Copa Libertadores match against Huachipato. Despite only making his senior debut in February, Nunes has quickly risen through the ranks and impressed manager Renato Gaucho. He showcased his skills as a substitute in the match, leaving a lasting impression on the Red Devils’ representative.
Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk’s promising midfielder Georgiy Sudakov is also attracting interest from top Premier League clubs. The Ukrainian side expects to sell Sudakov this summer, with Napoli already making an offer in January. Arsenal is rumored to be interested in the 21-year-old, who is considered the next top talent from Ukrainian football. Sudakov has also been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
Shakhtar officials have been in London this week to plan for the upcoming transfer window, as they anticipate losing their star player. Napoli’s previous bid of £34 million was rejected, and Shakhtar is looking for a higher offer.
In other news, Manchester United is confident of reaching a permanent deal with Borussia Dortmund for winger Jadon Sancho, as reported by the Daily Star. Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan in January after a standoff with United boss Erik ten Hag. Although there is no clause in the agreement making the loan deal permanent, United is determined to sell Sancho. The club believes they can agree on a price with Dortmund. United investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe is willing to cut his losses on Sancho, but he still expects a fee of around £45 million for the 23-year-old.
Brentford’s Ivan Toney is hoping for a significant pay rise when he moves on from the club, according to The Mirror. The forward is expected to be sold in the summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea all linked to him. Toney is reportedly seeking a salary higher than that of Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.
The 28-year-old has been in impressive form, scoring four goals in 13 club outings since returning from a betting ban. United were interested in signing a striker in January but faced financial restrictions. Toney’s demands, if met, could potentially disrupt Fernandes’ position as one of the highest earners at the club. Toney is seeking £250,000 per week, which is £10,000 more than Fernandes currently earns. This could also complicate negotiations for a new contract with Brentford.
