Luis Enrique’s disappointed team was unable to secure a victory at home against Reims in their Ligue 1 match.
Reims’ Zimbabwean midfielder, Marshall Nyasha Munetsi, was the hero of the match as he scored a crucial goal to help his team secure a 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the Parc des Princes stadium. Munetsi’s teammates were quick to congratulate him on his impressive performance.
Despite the draw, PSG’s winless streak in Ligue 1 continued, leaving them without a victory in their last three league matches. However, they still maintain a comfortable 10-point lead at the top of the table, thanks to their earlier dominance in the season.
The match got off to a surprising start as Reims took an early lead in the seventh minute. Oumar Diakite capitalized on a mistake by PSG’s Achraf Hakimi inside the penalty area and set up Munetsi for an easy finish into the net.
PSG quickly turned the game around with two goals in just two minutes. First, Yunis Abdelhamid unfortunately put the ball into his own net, leveling the score. Then, Goncalo Ramos fired PSG into the lead with a close-range strike.
However, Reims showed their resilience and equalized just before half-time. Diakite capitalized on Emmanuel Agbadou’s well-placed throughball and calmly slotted the ball past PSG’s goalkeeper, Keylor Navas.
Both teams had opportunities to score in the second half. Agbadou came close for Reims with a header from close range, but he couldn’t find the target.
PSG’s manager, Luis Enrique, decided to bring on Kylian Mbappe in the later stages of the game. The French superstar almost secured all three points for his team with a curling shot that narrowly missed the far post with just six minutes remaining.
In the end, both teams had to settle for a draw. PSG’s winless run continues, but they remain in a strong position at the top of the league. Reims can take pride in their performance, especially Munetsi, whose goal played a crucial role in securing a valuable point against the league leaders.
