Luis Enrique is keeping quiet about Kylian Mbappe’s future intentions at PSG.
Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has chosen to remain tight-lipped regarding the future of star player Kylian Mbappe. During a press conference ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 clash against Nantes, Enrique refused to comment on the situation, stating that he will only give his opinion once the parties involved have spoken.
Enrique emphasized that neither Mbappe nor anyone else at the club has made any public statements regarding the matter. As the coach, he believes it is important to focus on the team’s performance and continue working towards improvement. The team’s philosophy has always been that the club and the team are above any individual, and Enrique reiterated this message.
Currently, PSG sits comfortably at the top of the Ligue 1 table, 11 points ahead of Nice, with a game in hand. Mbappe has been in exceptional form, scoring 20 goals domestically and 31 in all competitions. However, there have been ongoing tensions between the player and the club in recent seasons.
Last summer, Mbappe expressed his desire to leave PSG but eventually agreed to a contract extension that would allow the club to receive a transfer fee for his departure. With the saga set to continue, Enrique remains unfazed by the potential distraction, stating that it is part of being at a high-profile club like PSG.
Enrique assured that the atmosphere in training remains unaffected, with the focus solely on the upcoming game against Nantes. He acknowledged that rumors and controversies are common at a club of PSG’s stature and that criticism and praise are to be expected.
While Real Madrid is seen as the most likely destination for Mbappe, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta did not rule out the possibility of the Frenchman joining the London club. However, Arteta hinted that it is unlikely to happen, stating that discussions are being held by the club’s management and owners, but he is not directly involved.
Arteta emphasized the importance of having the best talent and players to become the best team, but acknowledged that the situation surrounding Mbappe seems to be leaning towards a different outcome.
