Ligue 1 clubs are showing interest in Anthony Martial following his departure from Manchester United.
Martial in demand after Man Utd exit
Anthony Martial, the French forward, has officially left Manchester United, ending his tenure marked by inconsistent form and fitness. As a free agent, Martial now has several options for his next club.
According to the Daily Mail, Ligue 1 clubs Lyon and Marseille have expressed interest in acquiring his services. Lyon holds particular significance for Martial, as it is where he began his career at the age of 14. Additionally, Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas is reportedly contemplating a move for the 28-year-old. Martial’s contract expiration has made him available as a free agent.
Man Utd target Chalobah in attempt for new transfer approach
Manchester United is looking to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea this summer as they adopt a new transfer approach. The Mirror reports that United’s new strategy involves pursuing more affordable and younger players, rather than spending big on veterans.
Last summer, United spent over £170 million on players like Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, and Andre Onana, but finished eighth in the Premier League. The arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team, who acquired a 27.7% stake in the club in February, has signaled a change in direction for United.
Chalobah, a Chelsea defender, was previously linked with a move to Bayern Munich last summer. While the Blues are open to offers for the center-back, he remains under contract until June 2028, with the option of a further year.
Bellingham linked with Premier League switch
Jobe Bellingham, the brother of Jude Bellingham, is attracting interest from Crystal Palace and Brentford. The 18-year-old Sunderland midfielder, who can play in midfield and attack, is a priority target for Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner.
Talks are already underway between Palace and Bellingham, with the Eagles keen to secure his signature in the upcoming summer window. However, Brentford is also monitoring the young talent and has been keeping a close eye on him in recent months.
Mourinho set for Turkey job
Jose Mourinho, the former AS Roma manager, is reportedly in talks with Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig. The 61-year-old Portuguese coach is eager to return to work after leaving Roma in January.
Fenerbahce, who have not won a domestic league championship in 10 years, are keen to secure Mourinho’s services. The offer from Fenerbahce is currently the most appealing option for Mourinho, who has previously managed top clubs such as Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United.
Despite finishing second in the Super Lig last season, Fenerbahce amassed an impressive 99 points and suffered only one defeat. The club’s failure to secure the title prompted protests against the hierarchy on the streets of Istanbul.
