Kylian Mbappe, the French forward, stated that he does not feel any pressure while playing for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid’s newest star, Kylian Mbappe, has expressed his relief at feeling no pressure at his new club. The French forward, who joined from PSG in the summer, stated that he came to Madrid to be himself and not to live up to anyone else’s expectations.

Mbappe, 25, made an impressive debut for Real Madrid, scoring in the European Super Cup against Atalanta. However, he struggled to find the back of the net in his first three La Liga matches, resulting in draws against Mallorca and Las Palmas.

But Mbappe finally broke his goal drought in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Real Betis, scoring both goals for his team. Speaking to reporters after the match, he emphasized that his only pressure is to adapt to the team and that he has the confidence of his teammates.

“I’ve scored goals all my career, I’ll score goals for sure. The goals will come,” Mbappe said. “Three games without scoring are a lot for me, but it’s OK. I have the confidence of my teammates. There’s no pressure, it’s football. I have my quality. I’m here to be Kylian. There’s no pressure. I’m happy, I want to work.”

Mbappe also expressed his joy at finally scoring at the legendary Santiago Bernabeu stadium, which he described as the best in the world. He praised the fans for their support, even during his goalless run.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was delighted to see Mbappe open his account for the club. Ancelotti also commended Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr for selflessly allowing Mbappe to take the penalty that led to his first goal. Vinicius had previously been the penalty taker in the match against Las Palmas.

“We’ve never put pressure on him to score goals,” Ancelotti stated during his press conference. “Kylian had a good game. He was very effective in the area, he took his chances, he worked hard. It was important for him to score, but we evaluate the collective work. Vinicius was very altruistic, letting Kylian take the penalty. They have a good relationship.”

Real Madrid’s victory over Betis propelled them to second place in the table with eight points, still four points behind league leaders Barcelona.
