Kylian Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid next season, according to La Liga president Javier Tebas.
Kylian Mbappe, the French forward, has refused to reveal his next move after leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). La Liga president Javier Tebas has stated that Mbappe will join Real Madrid this summer.
The 25-year-old came close to joining Real Madrid in 2022 but decided to extend his contract with PSG. However, with just one game left in the Ligue 1 season, Mbappe has now left PSG and is expected to join Real Madrid.
Although the move has not been officially confirmed, Tebas revealed in an interview with Argentine paper Ole that he believes the deal is done. He stated, “He’s Madrid’s next season, yes. If they’ve signed a five-year deal, he has five seasons of opportunity to win the Champions League.” Tebas also acknowledged that Mbappe will be joining a strong squad that includes Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham, who have both played key roles in Real Madrid’s success this season.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been working on creating a younger set of Galacticos who can stay at the club for a long time. In addition to Bellingham and Vinicius, Real Madrid has also signed players like Rodrgyo, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Eduardo Camavinga.
Meanwhile, PSG manager Luis Enrique praised Mbappe after his last home game for the club, despite the surprise 3-1 loss to Toulouse. Enrique expressed his desire for the team to improve even without Mbappe, stating, “Regardless of those who are here or who are absent, my aim is to be stronger next season. PSG will continue to be a great team, and we’ll get even better.”
Mbappe himself has commented on the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and whether he will participate for the French football team. French president Emmanuel Macron has called for Mbappe’s involvement. Mbappe stated, “It’s not a situation that depends on me. The Olympic Games in France, they’re very important. We’ve got to think about it as adults and find the best solution for all parties. Whatever happens, I’ll be happy.”
