Euro 2024: Niclas Fullkrug, the German forward, receives high praise from Peter Crouch and Ally McCoist.
Peter Crouch, the former England striker, has highlighted Germany’s Niclas Fullkrug as a potential dark horse for the golden boot at the upcoming European Championships. The Borussia Dortmund forward is expected to play a significant role for Julian Nagelsmann’s side, having enjoyed a successful goal-scoring season for his club.
In an interview with TNT Sports, Crouch expressed his belief that Fullkrug will enter the Euros with great confidence. Drawing comparisons to the legendary Miroslav Klose, Crouch sees Fullkrug as a player who has the ability to score crucial goals in major tournaments.
Crouch stated, “I love him. He’s had a good season.. He’ll go into it full of confidence. Germany are somewhat flying under the radar as the host nation, and I think Fullkrug could be their main man. He may not have the same level of fame as players like Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Harry Kane, but I believe he could surprise everyone and find the back of the net on multiple occasions.”
Former Scottish striker Ally McCoist, known for his prolific goal-scoring abilities, also spoke highly of Fullkrug. McCoist praised the German forward’s traditional center-forward qualities, highlighting his game knowledge, excellent touch, finishing ability, and aggression.
Germany will commence their tournament against Scotland on June 14, followed by matches against Hungary on June 19 and Switzerland on June 23. As the host nation, Germany will be hoping that Fullkrug can make a significant impact and help lead them to success in the competition.
