Euro 2024: Kylian Mbappe is eager and excited to play in France’s last group game against Poland.
In the latest news from Euro 2024, Kylian Mbappe is set to make a comeback for France’s final group match against Poland, according to coach Didier Deschamps. Mbappe, who suffered a broken nose in their opening game against Austria, was left on the bench for their second match against Netherlands. However, Deschamps has confirmed that the young star is “raring to go” and will be available for selection.
Deschamps provided an update on Mbappe’s injury, stating that it is improving every day. The bruise has gone down significantly, and Mbappe has been training with the team. Although he will be playing with a mask, Deschamps assured that there are no issues with breathing. However, the mask may affect his vision on the field.
Mbappe’s impact was evident in France’s first match, where he played a crucial role in unlocking Austria’s defence. His fierce cross resulted in an own goal, securing the victory for France. However, their attacking prowess seemed to diminish in their second match, as they settled for a goalless draw against Netherlands.
Despite wearing a mask in training, Mbappe’s performance remained unchanged, according to Deschamps. The coach praised his contribution, describing him as decisive and dangerous. Deschamps hopes that Mbappe’s form in training will translate to the pitch in their upcoming match against Poland.
However, Deschamps mentioned that he is yet to receive the go-ahead from the medical team regarding the starting line-up. He will need to have discussions with different players before finalizing his selection.
Currently, France sits in second place in Group D, tied on points with Netherlands but behind on goal difference. Nevertheless, they have already secured a spot in the last 16. The match against Poland will determine their position in the group and set the tone for their journey in the knockout stages.
