Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has candidly stated that his side is unlikely to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal in the current campaign. The Italian, who took over from Mauricio Pochettino this summer, has acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead for his squad.

Maresca’s appointment followed a tumultuous period for the club, with Pochettino dismissed after struggling to establish a consistent starting XI that could meet the expectations of both fans and the club’s hierarchy. In a recent UEFA Europa Conference League clash, Chelsea showcased their attacking prowess, securing a 4-2 victory against Gent. The win has propelled them to fourth place in the Premier League, just one point behind both Arsenal and Manchester City, and two points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.
