Chelsea have finalized the acquisition of Wolves winger Pedro Neto for a fee of £51 million as they continue to strengthen their squad.
Chelsea Football Club has made a significant signing, securing the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Pedro Neto in a deal worth an initial £51 million. The 24-year-old winger had attracted interest from several top Premier League clubs and European giants following his impressive performances during the 2023-24 season.
During his time at Wolves, Neto found the back of the net three times in 20 appearances last season. His talent did not go unnoticed, as he also represented Portugal in the Euro 2024 tournament held in Germany this summer.
Chelsea officially announced the signing on their club website, expressing their delight at acquiring the services of the Portuguese international. Neto has signed a seven-year contract and will soon join his new teammates at Cobham for training.
Neto’s journey to Chelsea began in 2019 when he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Braga. Prior to that, he had a loan spell at Serie A side Lazio. His arrival at Chelsea is part of a busy transfer window under the management of Todd Boehly.
Expressing his gratitude, Neto said, “I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here, and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”
In addition to Neto, Chelsea’s new manager Enzo Maresca has welcomed several other new signings, including Aaron Anselmino, Tosin Adarabioyo, Filip Jorgensen, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, and Caleb Wiley.
With these new additions, Chelsea is gearing up for an exciting season ahead, and fans will be eagerly anticipating the impact that Neto and the other signings will have on the team’s performance.
