Barcelona is set to encounter fierce competition from Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea in their pursuit of Amadou Onana.
Amadou Onana, the talented midfielder from Everton, is attracting interest from top clubs including Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea. However, Barcelona may struggle to secure his signature as they are unable to meet Everton’s asking price of £51 million. Barcelona’s financial issues mean they can only offer £34 million at the moment. Nevertheless, they are closely monitoring Onana’s situation.
Everton will hope to create an auction for the 22-year-old Belgian international this summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea also keen on signing him. Onana joined Everton from Lille for £33.5 million after rejecting West Ham in August 2022.
In addition to their financial constraints, Barcelona may also consider selling Frenkie de Jong. The Mirror suggests that the Dutch midfielder is open to a move, with Manchester United showing interest. De Jong and United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, have a history together from their time at Ajax. De Jong’s performances at Barcelona have not been exceptional, but the club has faced numerous challenges on and off the pitch. Despite previously pledging his loyalty to Barcelona, it seems that De Jong’s stance has changed, and he is now more open to the idea of leaving for Manchester.
Manchester United is also eyeing young Argentine talents from South America, according to The Express. Four players – Franco Mastantuono, Aaron Anselmino, Ian Subiabre, and Tomas Parmo – have caught United’s attention. However, other top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City could also be interested in these starlets.
Mastantuono, at just 16 years old, made headlines by becoming the joint-second youngest goalscorer in Argentine football history. Parmo and Subiabre, both teenagers, have also impressed with their performances for Independiente and River Plate, respectively. United is also keeping an eye on defensive options, with Anselmino on their radar.
Liverpool is preparing for Jurgen Klopp’s departure, and this could lead to significant changes in the squad. The Daily Star reports that six players – Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Thiago, Cody Gakpo, and Konstantinos Tsimikas – could leave the club in the summer. Klopp’s exit will mark a major transformation for Liverpool, and finding the right successor will be a challenging task. As a result, several senior players, including those previously considered untouchable, may face the axe as the club ushers in a new era.
Despite the potential departures, Liverpool currently sits at the top of the Premier League after a 3-1 victory over Burnley.
