**Arsenal Thrash Juventus in UEFA Women’s Champions League Clash**
In a stunning display of football, Arsenal continued their unbeaten streak under interim manager Renee Slegers with a resounding 4-0 victory over Juventus in the UEFA Women’s Champions League at the Stadio Comunale Vittorio Pozzo Lamarmora on Tuesday night.
The Gunners, who have enjoyed a remarkable run of four wins and a draw in Slegers’ five matches at the helm since the departure of Jonas Eidevall, showcased their dominance throughout the match. Despite creating a plethora of chances, it took a late surge to secure the emphatic win that further solidified Slegers’ impressive start in the dugout.
Frida Maanum was the first to break the deadlock, finding the net with a delightful finish just seven minutes before the half-time whistle. The Norwegian international capped off a beautifully orchestrated move, displaying the visitors’ slick passing and composure in the final third.
Juventus, who had only suffered one defeat in the current campaign prior to facing Arsenal, struggled to find their rhythm. The Italian side was kept on the back foot for much of the match, with Emily Fox coming agonisingly close to scoring as her delicate effort struck the crossbar in the second half.
However, it was Arsenal’s late flurry of goals that truly highlighted their attacking prowess. Substitute Stina Blackstenius was the catalyst, doubling the lead in the 75th minute with a brilliant solo effort. Cutting in from the left flank, she unleashed a powerful shot that left Juventus goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin with no chance.
Despite Peyraud-Magnin’s commendable efforts to keep her side in contention with a series of fine saves, the outcome was sealed when Mariona Caldentey, who had only just entered the fray, rifled home Arsenal’s third goal with ten minutes remaining.
Caitlin Foord capped off the evening’s festivities, tapping in from an excellent delivery by Kyra Cooney-Cross to complete the rout and ensure Arsenal opened a three-point gap over third-placed Juventus in Group C.
With this commanding performance, Arsenal have sent a clear message to their rivals in the Champions League. Under Slegers, they appear to be hitting their stride at just the right time.
