Arsenal lost the chance to win the Premier League title to Man City, even though they secured a late victory with Kai Havertz’s goal against Everton.

In a thrilling match that had fans on the edge of their seats, Arsenal emerged victorious over Everton with a controversial last-minute winner from Kai Havertz. However, despite their valiant efforts, this win was not enough to secure them the title, as Manchester City also claimed victory against West Ham.

The match was not without its fair share of controversy, as referee Michael Oliver had to review the ball striking Gabriel Jesus’ arm in the lead-up to Havertz’s close-range strike. In a surprising turn of events, the goal was allowed to stand, presumably because Jesus’ arm was against his side.

With this win, Arsenal finished the campaign with a commendable 89 points, just two points behind the title winners, Manchester City, who finished on 91 points.

Arsenal entered the match knowing that they needed a victory and were hoping for City to stumble against West Ham. However, their hopes were quickly dashed when news of Phil Foden’s goal at the Etihad Stadium reached the stadium just two minutes into the game. This made their uphill battle even steeper.

The atmosphere in the stadium took a further hit when news of a second Manchester City goal reached the fans. The positive mood quickly evaporated, and Everton had their chances to capitalize on this. Dominic Calvert-Lewin came close to scoring, hitting the post, but it was Idrissa Gana Gueye’s free-kick that found the back of the net, deflecting off Declan Rice in the wall, six minutes before halftime.

However, Arsenal showed their resilience and determination as they quickly equalized. Martin Odegaard provided a brilliant assist from the by-line, allowing Takehiro Tomiyasu to drive the ball home just a couple of minutes after Everton’s goal.

The second half saw both teams pushing for a winner. Havertz and Emile Smith Rowe came close to scoring, hitting the bar from crosses delivered by Gabriel Martinelli. The tension continued to build as the clock ticked down.

In the dying moments of the game, Havertz became the hero for Arsenal. With a dramatic last-minute winner, he secured the victory for his team. The goal sparked celebrations among the Arsenal players and fans, but it was not enough to clinch the title.

Despite falling short in their title pursuit, Arsenal can be proud of their performance throughout the season. They fought until the very end and provided fans with thrilling moments. As the season comes to a close, Arsenal will now shift their focus to regrouping and preparing for the challenges that lie ahead.
