Antonio Conte has been officially announced as the new coach of Napoli, signing a three-year contract.

Antonio Conte, the renowned Italian professional football manager and former player, has been officially announced as the new manager of Napoli. This comes after Napoli’s triumphant victory in the 2022/23 season, where they secured the Serie A title for the first time since 1990.

However, the club experienced a period of uncertainty as Luciano Spalletti departed after their Scudetto success. Following Spalletti’s departure, Napoli went through a series of managerial changes. Rudi Garcia lasted only six months before leaving in November, and Walter Mazzarri’s tenure was even shorter, exiting just over three months after taking charge. Francesco Calzona then took over until the end of the season, but he was also juggling his role with the Slovakia national team.

Calzona allowed Napoli to take their time in finding a new manager, and it was revealed that Antonio Conte was their top target. Numerous reports in Italy indicated that Conte had entered advanced negotiations with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis after the conclusion of the Serie A season. Finally, on Wednesday, the deal was confirmed, and Conte signed a three-year contract until 2027.

Expressing his excitement, Conte stated, “Napoli is a place of global importance. I am happy and thrilled at the prospect of sitting on the blue bench. I can assure you of one thing: I will give my all for the growth of the team and the club. My commitment, along with that of my staff, will be unwavering.”

Conte brings with him an impressive track record, having won the Serie A title four times, three with Juventus and once with Inter Milan. He also achieved success in the Premier League, clinching the title with Chelsea in the 2016/17 season. Additionally, Conte has managed the Italy national team in the past. Prior to joining Napoli, he had been without a club since leaving Tottenham in March 2023.
