Antoine Griezmann is determined to play for France in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and will make every effort to make it happen this summer.

France and Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has expressed his desire to participate in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. The 32-year-old, who has had a successful international career with the France national team, is eager to add an Olympic appearance to his list of achievements.

Griezmann, who was the top goalscorer at the 2016 European Championships, has experienced both triumph and heartbreak on the international stage. He played a crucial role in France’s 2018 World Cup victory in Russia and helped them reach the final once again in Qatar last year, only to lose out to Argentina on penalties.

Despite his impressive international career, Griezmann has never been part of an Olympics team with his national side. He is determined to change that and has his sights set on featuring at this year’s summer Games in Paris. In an interview with French outlet Le Monde, he stated that he would discuss the matter with the management at Atletico Madrid to see if they would allow him to participate.

Griezmann described the Olympics as “something exceptional” and expressed his love for the event. He mentioned that he enjoys watching it with his children and emphasized his support for all the French athletes. When asked about the potential workload if he participates at the Games, Griezmann reassured that he knows his body well and has access to high-level physiotherapists, so there would be no problem.

In addition to discussing his own Olympic aspirations, Griezmann also addressed the speculation surrounding his France teammate Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe is rumored to be leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, with Real Madrid being the frontrunners to sign him on a free transfer. Griezmann expressed his excitement at the prospect of playing against Mbappe in Spain, stating that he would be very welcomed there.

Meanwhile, Griezmann recently featured in Atletico Madrid’s 1-0 defeat against Inter Milan in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 game.
