After falling behind 3-0 to Nottingham Forest, Fulham decided to make three changes to their lineup after 33 minutes.

Fulham manager Marco Silva was far from impressed with his team’s performance in the first half hour against Nottingham Forest. Within the first 20 minutes, Fulham found themselves trailing 2-0, prompting Silva to make a bold move. He swiftly substituted Alex Iwobi, Sasa Lukic, and Harry Wilson, a decision that TNT commentator Martin Keown described as a “public embarrassment”.

Unfortunately for Fulham, their woes were far from over. Just before the break, Morgan Gibbs-White scored a third goal for Forest, further deepening the hole that Fulham found themselves in. The cameras captured the dejected faces of the three substituted players as they retreated to the bench, their heads hanging low. Keown commented on the situation, stating, “As if it wasn’t embarrassing enough to go off after the half hour, you now have to sit there and think about your game.”

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, seemed determined to distance themselves from the relegation zone. Despite the off-field fight they are currently facing, with the club appealing the decision to dock them four points for a breach of Profitability and Sustainability Rules, Forest’s players showed no signs of distraction. They were in top form right from the start, with Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring the opening goal just nine minutes into the game. Chris Wood then added a second goal at the 19-minute mark, prompting Silva to make the highly unusual decision to make a triple substitution.

The match was certainly a disappointing one for Fulham, but credit must be given to Nottingham Forest for their impressive performance. As the game progressed, it became clear that Forest were determined to secure a victory and climb up the league table.
