Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is anticipating that Tottenham will be contenders for the Premier League title in the upcoming season.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has expressed his belief that his team will be contenders for the Premier League title next season, as he aims to build on their impressive start under his leadership.
Currently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League table, Spurs have the opportunity to level points with fourth-placed Aston Villa if they secure a victory against West Ham United on Tuesday evening, with the match being broadcast live on TNT Sports.
While achieving a top-four finish for the first time since the 2021/22 season would be considered progress, Postecoglou has set his sights even higher. When asked about the possibility of a title push next season, the Tottenham manager told Standard Sport, “I hope so, or why am I doing what I’m doing? That’s why I came to the club.”
Postecoglou added, “As somebody said to me last week, ‘Just do your job, Ange.’ And my job is to try to bring success, and if you don’t think you’re going to be in the title race in 12 months’ time, then I don’t know why I’m here. We want to keep building on the foundation of being a team that hopefully in 12 months’ time people are talking about us differently.”
Despite leading the Premier League table in the early stages of the season, Tottenham’s form has dipped slightly, leaving them in fifth place and eight points behind third-placed Manchester City. Postecoglou refused to disclose specific targets for the remainder of the season but made it clear that finishing in fourth place is not his sole objective.
“There’s nine games to go, let’s see where that takes us,” he stated. “I’d rather have that approach than having one specific target. It’d probably make my life easier if I said, ‘Let’s make the Champions League,’ because everyone thinks I’ve done a great job. But I look at the teams who made the Champions League this year from last year, and that wasn’t the catalyst for them kicking on. I’m not going to let this club rest on where we finish this year.”
Tottenham has nine matches remaining in the Premier League season, including a highly-anticipated home clash against their north London rivals Arsenal and an away trip to face league leaders Liverpool.
