Thomas Frank: Tottenham Hotspur has appointed Brentford’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League season.

Thomas Frank has taken the reins at Tottenham Hotspur, succeeding Ange Postecoglou in a move that marks the end of his nearly seven-year tenure at Brentford.

During his time with The Bees, Frank achieved remarkable success, guiding the club out of the Championship and firmly establishing their presence in the Premier League. His departure is sure to leave a significant impact on Brentford, who have flourished under his leadership.

Joining Frank at Tottenham will be a familiar coaching team from Brentford, including Justin Cochrane as First Team Assistant Coach, Chris Haslam as Head of Performance and First Team Assistant Coach, and Joe Newton as First Team Coach Analyst. Meanwhile, Andreas Georgson has made the switch from Manchester United to bolster the coaching staff.

Last season, Frank’s Brentford side finished a commendable 10th in the Premier League, finishing seven places and 16 points clear of their London rivals. The 51-year-old has a rich managerial history, having previously led Danish club Brondby and various age-grade teams for Denmark, earning a reputation for his exciting style of play and astute transfer dealings.

Brentford has made headlines in recent years for their savvy recruitment, bringing in talents like Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo, and David Raya at bargain prices before selling them for substantial profits.

With Postecoglou’s triumph in the Europa League final, Spurs have secured a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League. However, Frank faces a considerable challenge domestically, as Tottenham recorded their lowest-ever Premier League points tally last season, finishing just one place above the relegation zone with a mere 38 points.

Frank becomes Spurs’ fourth permanent manager since June 2021 and the fifth in six years, following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019. The pressure is on as he looks to restore the club to its former glory.
