The president of Napoli suggests that Victor Osimhen might join the Premier League, however, it is highly unlikely that Jose Mourinho will end up in Naples.

In a surprising turn of events, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that Victor Osimhen could be making a move to the Premier League next season. De Laurentiis also dismissed any possibility of a swoop for Jose Mourinho, stating that the English top flight could be the 25-year-old striker’s next destination.

De Laurentiis expressed his confidence in Osimhen’s potential move, stating, “We already knew it since last summer. The negotiation for the renewal would not have been this long otherwise. We already knew he would go to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or the Premier League.”

Osimhen himself addressed the rumors, acknowledging the speculation surrounding his future. He said, “The rumor is going around about me being linked with the Premier League. Of course, when you’re one of the hottest strikers in the world, you expect this type of thing. It’s one of the biggest and best leagues in the world.”

However, Osimhen emphasized his commitment to Napoli, stating, “For me, I’m with Napoli, signed a new contract, and enjoying my time there with the team. At the end of the season, I’ve already made up my mind. I already know what I want to do in my career.”

Osimhen’s impressive performance last season, scoring 31 goals for Napoli, played a crucial role in the club clinching their first Scudetto title since 1990. As a result, his signature has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, with Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly among the suitors.

Meanwhile, De Laurentiis also made it clear that Jose Mourinho would not be taking charge of Napoli in the future. Following Mourinho’s recent sacking by AS Roma, De Laurentiis stated, “Mourinho has nothing to do with Napoli. He is a great coach, very nice, impetuous, but I believe that his destiny will be outside of Italy. Certainly not in Naples.”

In addition, De Laurentiis addressed the situation regarding Piotr Zielinski, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season. He expressed his willingness to keep Zielinski at the club, stating, “Certain love stories end on their own. If he wants to stay, we are here to embrace him.”

Overall, it seems that Osimhen’s future lies in the Premier League, with Chelsea and Arsenal among the potential suitors. As for Napoli, they have ruled out any possibility of Mourinho taking charge and remain open to keeping Zielinski at the club.
