The forest dominated with an impressive start to secure a huge victory against Fulham.

Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White was the hero of the day as he led his team to a crucial 3-1 victory over Fulham at the City Ground. The win has given Forest a much-needed boost in their fight for survival in the Premier League.

The hosts got off to a flying start, with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood finding the back of the net within the first 19 minutes. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were in control and Marco Silva, Fulham’s manager, could not hide his frustration on the touchline. In a desperate attempt to turn the tide, Silva made an extraordinary triple substitution after just 33 minutes.

However, Forest continued to dominate and just before half-time, Gibbs-White calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net, following a slick one-two with Danilo. The goal gave Forest a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the break.

Silva must have demanded a response from his team during the half-time team talk, and he got one just four minutes into the second half. Tosin Adarabioyo headed in a left-wing corner to give Fulham a glimmer of hope.

Both teams then went on the attack in a frenetic encounter, with Neco Williams and Kenny Tete hitting the woodwork at either end. Fulham showed a marked improvement in the second half, posing a real threat to Forest’s lead. However, they were unable to find a second goal to mount a sensational comeback.

The victory sees Forest move three points clear of the relegation zone, although they have played one more game than 18th-placed Luton Town. Luton Town will face Arsenal on Wednesday night, and Forest will be hoping for a favorable result in that match.

Despite the loss, Fulham remains in 12th place in the league table. Their performance away from home continues to be a cause for concern.

Looking ahead, Fulham will host Newcastle on Saturday, while Forest will face a tough challenge away at Tottenham on Sunday.
