Strasbourg leaves Marseille disappointed as Patrick Vieira’s team secures a draw in Ligue 1 with a late goal by Jeremy Sebas.

Strasbourg’s French forward Jérémy Sebas was the hero of the match as he celebrated scoring his team’s first goal during the French L1 football match against Olympique de Marseille (OM) at the Velodrome stadium in Marseille. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving Marseille frustrated at their home ground.

Marseille took an early lead in the third minute when Samuel Gigot headed in Jordan Veretout’s cross. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR overturned the decision, giving Marseille the advantage.

Both teams had chances throughout the match, with Pau Lopez making a crucial save for Marseille and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missing an opportunity to extend their lead.

Despite Marseille’s dominance, Strasbourg held their ground and had their fair share of possession. Dilane Bakwa came close to equalizing when his shot hit the woodwork.

However, it was in the first minute of stoppage time that Sebas made his mark. Taking advantage of a poor defensive header, he clinically struck the ball into the net, securing a well-deserved point for Strasbourg.

Strasbourg’s unbeaten run now extends to six games across all competitions, while Marseille find themselves in fifth place, three points behind the top four.

Both teams will now shift their focus to the Coupe de France, with Marseille facing Rennes and Strasbourg taking on Clermont on January 21.
