Scotland and Finland drew 2-2 at Hampden Park as Steve Clarke’s team squandered a two-goal advantage in their last Euro 2024 warm-up match.

Scotland’s final warm-up game before Euro 2024 ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Finland at Hampden Park. The hosts took an early 2-0 lead in the second half, but Finland fought back to secure a well-deserved result.

The first half was a cagey affair, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. Scotland’s Kieran Tierney produced a superb sliding tackle to deny Finland’s Teemu Pukki in the 10th minute, showcasing his defensive prowess.

The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Finland’s Arttu Hoskonen unfortunately turned Andrew Robertson’s cross into his own net, giving Scotland a 1-0 lead. The home crowd erupted with joy as their team took control of the match.

Just four minutes later, Robertson turned provider once again, delivering a pinpoint cross to Lawrence Shankland, who powered a header into the back of the net. Scotland were now cruising with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

However, Finland refused to give up and mounted a spirited comeback. In the 72nd minute, Benjamin Kallman found himself unmarked in the box and expertly guided Oliver Antman’s cross into the net, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

With only five minutes remaining, Finland were awarded a penalty after Craig Gordon fouled Tomas Galvez. Kallman stepped up and coolly converted from the spot, sending Gordon the wrong way and securing a valuable point for his team.

The draw was a fair result, as both teams showed great determination and skill throughout the match. Scotland will now have to regroup and analyze their performance ahead of the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.
