Ruben Neves Unlikely to Join Newcastle on Loan as Premier League Vote Split Revealed
Gareth Southgate is urging the England national team to return to their areas of expertise after facing difficulties lately. The manager believes that the team has deviated from their strong points and must concentrate again in order to attain success.
According to reports from The Athletic, Ruben Neves is likely to continue playing for Al Hilal and won’t go on loan this January. Despite rumors of Newcastle being interested in signing Neves as a substitute for the suspended Sandro Tonali, the Portuguese midfielder is expected to remain in Saudi Arabia. Neves will not be joining Arsenal temporarily, as reported by The Mirror.
The decision on loaning players between associated clubs in the Premier League was divided among the teams, with a 12-8 split. Unfortunately, this fell short of the required two-thirds majority to enforce the ban. Newcastle, Manchester City, Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, Sheffield United, Wolves, and Everton all voted against the ban. This rejection has raised concerns about the solidarity within the Premier League. According to The Sun, it is expected that Raphael Varane will depart from Manchester United during the summer. Despite losing his position as a starter under Erik ten Hag, Varane has no intention of leaving mid-season. There are reports suggesting that the French defender is intrigued by the prospect of relocating to Italy or Saudi Arabia, although a possible return to Real Madrid has also been mentioned.
Manchester United’s football director, John Murtough, anticipates remaining in his current position even after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment is officially announced. Initially, there were indications that Murtough would depart from the club in anticipation of upcoming changes. Nevertheless, Murtough maintains an optimistic outlook and desires to continue contributing during the club’s period of transformation. Ratcliffe and Ineos are currently evaluating various alternatives to replace Murtough; nonetheless, he holds hope for his continued involvement with the club.
