Ruben Amorim states that the Manchester United team needs enhancements for the upcoming season following their defeat to Wolves at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has expressed his belief that Manchester United must make significant improvements next season following their disappointing 1-0 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League.

The match saw United succumb to a stunning free-kick from Pablo Sarabia, marking their 15th Premier League defeat of the season. Amorim acknowledged the challenges his side has faced, stating that as the campaign nears its conclusion, there will be both highs and lows. He emphasized the need for his team to enhance their performance both on and off the pitch in the upcoming term.

“This season is going to end like this, so we need to take the positives and work on what we need to improve,” he told the BBC. “They will have one chance. We have to look at everything, our squad, what we have to do in the market. We will see.”

Amorim drew inspiration from Manchester United’s famous comeback in 1999, highlighting the belief that “everything is possible.” He noted that discussions about next season are ongoing, and with time, the necessary improvements will be made to strengthen the team.

Rasmus Hojlund, who has struggled this season with just eight goals in 45 appearances, missed several key opportunities against Wolves. The Norwegian forward has only found the net once in his last 28 outings, but Amorim insisted that the responsibility for scoring lies with the entire team.

“We didn’t score our opportunities,” he said. “That’s it. We need to score goals. We need to continue to work, but it is not just Rasmus; the whole team missed a lot of opportunities.”

In a match that saw youngsters Harry Amass and Tyler Fredricson start for United, Amorim praised their performances and stressed the importance of ensuring that young players have positive experiences in the squad moving forward.

“It will be like this, ups and downs, and let’s finish the season,” he added while speaking to Sky Sports. “I think they (Tyler Fredricson and Harry Amass) played really well. We need to score goals so that the kids have better memories.”

Reflecting on the match, Amorim lamented the missed chances, stating, “These days are really disappointing. We were better than the opponents, but if you don’t score goals, you don’t win games. We suffered a goal with their only shot on target. They scored a goal, and we lost the game.”
