Portugal secured the victory in the 84th minute when Fernandes found the back of the net again, this time assisted by Francisco Conceicao. Cristiano Ronaldo, who missed the match, is expected to return to the squad for the next game against Ireland.
Despite the win, Portugal will be disappointed with the defensive errors that allowed Finland to get back into the game. They will need to address these issues before the start of the tournament.
