Nations League draw: Scotland and the Republic of Ireland discover their play-off rivals, while Italy will compete against Germany in the quarter-finals.

Scotland is set to face Greece in a crucial Nations League promotion/relegation play-off, while the Republic of Ireland will meet Bulgaria in a similar battle to avoid relegation.

Having finished third in Group A1, Scotland now finds themselves up against Greece, who secured second place in Group B2, trailing only behind England. The two teams will clash in a two-legged play-off, with the first leg scheduled for Thursday, March 20, and the return fixture on Sunday, March 23. A victory for Scotland would ensure their place in League A, while a defeat would see them relegated to League B.

In a parallel situation, the Republic of Ireland also finished third, this time in Group B2. They will take on Bulgaria, who were runners-up in Group C3, in their own play-off. Both teams will be eager to avoid the drop, making this encounter a high-stakes affair.

In other news, England and Wales have successfully secured promotion to League A after topping Groups B2 and B4, respectively. Northern Ireland also celebrated automatic promotion, finishing first in Group C3.

The promotion/relegation play-offs are not the only exciting fixtures on the horizon. In the Nations League quarter-finals, fans can look forward to a rematch of the 2018 World Cup final, as Croatia prepares to take on France. The Netherlands will face off against Euro 2024 champions Spain, while Denmark is set to meet Portugal. Germany, under the guidance of Julian Nagelsmann, will aim to maintain their impressive form against Euro 2020 winners Italy.

The quarter-finals will take place on March 20 and March 23, with the winners of the Netherlands vs. Spain match facing the victor of Croatia vs. France in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the winner of the Denmark vs. Portugal clash will go up against either Italy or Germany.

As for England, they have made a triumphant return to Nations League A, securing their spot with back-to-back victories in their last two matches under interim manager Lee Carsley. The excitement continues to build as teams vie for glory in this prestigious tournament.
