In a stunning turn of events at the Africa Cup of Nations, Namibia secured a historic victory over Tunisia, winning their first-ever match at the tournament. The Group E clash saw Deon Hotto’s header in the 88th minute seal the win for Namibia, with Bethuel Muzeu providing a brilliant assist. Although Hotto thought he had secured a second goal in stoppage time, it was correctly ruled out for offside.

Tunisia, who were crowned champions in 2004, struggled to find the back of the net, thanks to an impressive performance from Namibia goalkeeper Lloyd Kazapua. This victory has significantly boosted Namibia’s chances of progressing past the group stage for the first time in their history. However, they still have tough matches against Mali and South Africa to navigate.

Over at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, Burkina Faso secured a 1-0 win over Mauritania, courtesy of a late penalty from Aston Villa’s Bertrand Traore.
