The nominees for the PFA awards have been announced, igniting passionate debates across the footballing community regarding who deserves to take home the top honours this year.
The main prizes represent four of the most prestigious individual accolades in world football, featuring some of the biggest names in the beautiful game on this year’s shortlists.
With that in mind, fans now have the opportunity to cast their votes for the players they believe should walk away with the main prizes this year.
Men’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year
Bruno Fernandes
Despite Manchester United finishing a disappointing 15th in the Premier League table, Bruno Fernandes shone brightly for Ruben Amorim’s side. He was instrumental in several matches, ending the 2024/25 Premier League season with an impressive tally of eight goals and 11 assists.
Alexander Isak
Newcastle’s Alexander Isak enjoyed a stellar season, netting 23 goals and providing six assists in the Premier League, which helped secure a coveted spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League. His contributions were also vital in the team’s Carabao Cup success.
Alexis Mac Allister
Mac Allister was the driving force in Liverpool’s midfield as they stormed to the 2024/25 Premier League title. The Argentine finished the campaign with five goals and five assists, showcasing his all-around influence on the pitch.
Cole Palmer
Cole Palmer had another remarkable season, registering 15 goals and nine assists for Chelsea. His efforts were crucial in helping the Blues secure a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and a return to the UEFA Champions League.
Declan Rice
As the heartbeat of Arsenal’s midfield, Declan Rice played a pivotal role in securing a third consecutive second-place finish for the Gunners. With the team still chasing the Premier League title, fans will be hoping Rice can replicate his performances next season.
Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah equalled the records set by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer for the most goal contributions in a single Premier League season during the 2024/25 campaign. His remarkable tally of 29 goals and 18 assists was instrumental in Liverpool clinching their 20th league title.
Women’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year
Mariona Caldentey
Mariona Caldentey was a key figure in Arsenal’s midfield, helping the team secure a second-place finish in the Women’s Super League. Her standout achievement came when she played a crucial role in the Gunners’ UEFA Champions League victory against her former side, Barcelona.
Erin Cuthbert
Erin Cuthbert was sensational for Chelsea, contributing to their WSL title win as part of an incredible domestic treble. The midfielder’s tireless performances saw her finish the season with eight goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Mary Fowler
Mary Fowler made her mark at Manchester City, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in the WSL last term, which helped her side secure a fourth-place finish in the table.
Alessia Russo
England international Alessia Russo led the line for Arsenal with distinction during the 2024/25 campaign, finishing with 12 goals and two assists in the WSL. She was also instrumental in her side’s Champions League triumph.
Phallon Tullis-Joyce
Manchester United goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce has been nominated for the award after an impressive season, recording 18 clean sheets from 30 appearances, which helped United finish third in the WSL.
Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year
Chelsea’s summer signing, Liam Delap, has been shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year award following an outstanding season with Ipswich Town. He is joined on the shortlist by Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has firmly established himself in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Ethan Nwaneri also impressed for Arsenal and is included alongside his teammate. Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen are both nominated after their contributions helped the Cherries secure a ninth-place finish in the Premier League. Morgan Rogers is also in the running after becoming a key player in the Aston Villa attack.
Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year
Chelsea boasts a trio of players nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year, reflecting their domestic treble success. Aggie Beever-Jones, Wieke Kaptein, and Maika Hamano have all been recognised for their sensational seasons in West London.
Olivia Smith’s nine goals for Liverpool earned her a nomination, while Manchester City’s Mary Fowler has made it onto both shortlists. Additionally, Manchester United’s Grace Clinton is also in contention after an impressive season.
