Mauricio Pochettino’s future is up in the air as Chelsea considers hiring Ruben Amorim, while Alphonso Davies is being pursued by Real Madrid.
Pochettino’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain, with reports suggesting that Ruben Amorim of Sporting Lisbon is being considered as a potential replacement. The Argentine coach has one year left on his contract, with an option for another year if the club chooses to exercise it. The pressure on Pochettino has increased following Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea may need to sell several players to comply with financial regulations set by the Premier League. With a number of players currently out on loan, there are several candidates who could be sold to raise funds. The club is expected to earn significant amounts from the permanent sales of Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen, and Lewis Hall. Additionally, players like Tervoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher, and Marc Cucurella could also be offloaded.
In a major squad overhaul, Manchester United is reportedly looking to sell 10 players in the summer. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new owner of Ineos and now in charge of football operations at Old Trafford, is targeting a significant clearout. Players whose contracts expire next summer, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Facundo Pellistri, are expected to be sold. There is also interest in selling Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Mason Greenwood, Hannibal Mejbri, Alvaro Fernadez, and Donny van de Beek.
Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies is said to have a “verbal agreement” to join Real Madrid. The 23-year-old left-back has reportedly caught the attention of Los Blancos, who are in need of a new left-back. Talks have already taken place between Madrid’s chief scout and director general with Davies’ representatives. It is believed that a verbal agreement has been reached for Davies to either join Madrid this summer or become a free agent next year.
