The injury occurred during Palace’s Premier League match against Brighton on February 3, which they lost 4-1. Initially, it was thought that Guehi would only be sidelined for a couple of weeks, but the decision was made to proceed with surgery.

This unfortunate timing could potentially affect Guehi’s chances of making it into Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024. He will miss the upcoming March international break, during which England will play friendlies against Brazil and Belgium at Wembley. Guehi has already earned nine caps for England since his debut in March 2022 against Switzerland.
