Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim aims to retain the ‘great talent’ Marcus Rashford, even though Rashford is seeking a ‘new challenge.’

**Rashford’s Future in the Balance as Amorim Calls for Commitment**

In the aftermath of Manchester United’s recent Premier League clash with Everton, manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear that he wants star forward Marcus Rashford to remain at Old Trafford. This comes despite the player’s recent comments hinting at a desire for a “new challenge.”

Rashford, speaking in an interview with esteemed journalist Henry Winter, expressed his readiness for a change. The 27-year-old forward suggested that he could be eyeing a departure from the club either in the upcoming January transfer window or at the end of the current season. However, sources indicate that the England international is not looking to engineer a messy exit from the club he has called home for so long.

Paris Saint-Germain have long been linked with a move for Rashford, while the lucrative Saudi Pro League could also present a viable option, given their financial clout. Despite his recent struggles for form, which have seen him drop off from the heights of his first season under Erik ten Hag, Rashford’s contract—signed just last year and running until 2028—puts United in a strong position to command a hefty fee should he decide to leave.

Rashford’s status as a homegrown player means that any transfer fee received would count as pure profit. This makes him a potential asset for the club as they navigate profit and sustainability regulations.

In a press conference on Wednesday morning, Amorim expressed his desire to see Rashford rediscover his best form. He stated, “I spoke with a lot of players individually and during training. What I want is to take the best of Marcus Rashford. I don’t talk about the future; I just talk about the present. I want the best from each one of them.”

The Portuguese manager was unequivocal in his support for Rashford, adding, “Of course, because this kind of club needs big talents, and he is a big talent. He just needs to perform at the highest level, and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus.”

Amorim believes that his arrival at United presents Rashford with a fresh opportunity. He remarked, “He is right. We have here a new challenge, the biggest in football. We are in a difficult situation. I hope all my players are ready.”

The manager’s decision to leave both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the squad for the recent 2-1 victory over Manchester City has only intensified speculation regarding their futures. Amorim’s 3-4-3 system may not be the best fit for either player, and he has yet to confirm whether they will feature in Thursday’s Carabao Cup clash against Tottenham.

“We have one more training session, and they are in the same situation as the other players,” he explained. “If they train well, we have to make a choice.”

As the transfer window looms, all eyes will be on Rashford and his next move. Fans and pundits alike are eager to see if he can reignite his career at Manchester United or if a new chapter awaits him elsewhere.
