Manchester United is considering Joshua Zirkzee, Ivan Toney, and Jonathan David as potential strikers for their transfer shortlist.
Manchester United are on the lookout for a new forward to support Rasmus Hojlund, as reported by The Independent. The club has identified Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, Ivan Toney from Brentford, and Jonathan David from Lille as potential options. Manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his desire to sign two centre-forwards, and with Anthony Martial’s departure, Hojlund is currently the only specialist No. 9 in the squad. United are keen to avoid overworking Hojlund and are actively seeking an alternative.
Additionally, the club is expected to target a central midfielder and a centre-back, with Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton being a potential replacement for Raphael Varane.
Similarly, Arsenal is also in the market for a forward to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. The Mirror suggests that Marcus Edwards from Sporting Lisbon, Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, and Pedro Neto from Wolves are all potential targets. Arsenal had initially prioritized a move for Benjamin Sesko from Red Bull Leipzig but were rejected, leading them to explore other options. Sesko has since signed a new contract with Leipzig, ending any hopes of a transfer. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is now focused on bolstering their wide options and has been linked with several wingers, including Edwards, Neto, and Williams. The club is also looking to strengthen their midfield, with Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad being a long-term target.
Following reports that Manchester United has decided to retain Erik ten Hag as manager, the club is now set to offer him a two-year contract extension. Ten Hag led the team to victory in the FA Cup at the end of the domestic season, solidifying his position. The decision to keep Ten Hag was made after a meeting on Tuesday, ending months of uncertainty surrounding his future. The Dutchman had grown frustrated with the prolonged end-of-season review, fearing its impact on transfer plans and his own position. However, he expressed his desire to continue and has entered into discussions for a new extended contract, with the expectation being a two-year deal.
Teden Mengi, currently playing for Luton Town, is attracting interest from several clubs in the summer transfer window. Fulham is keen on signing the defender and plans to bring in at least two centre-backs. Manager Marco Silva has emphasized the need to strengthen the central defence. Fulham’s pursuit of more centre-backs intensified after Tosin Adarabioyo’s departure to Chelsea on a free transfer. Mengi is also reportedly of interest to Crystal Palace, and Bayer Leverkusen’s chief UK-based scout, Matthew Green, watched him play during Luton Town’s match against Sheffield United last season.
