Manchester United has stated that Marcus Rashford has assumed accountability for his conduct, and they consider the issue to be resolved and no longer under discussion.
I am sure he will get there. Ten Hag backs Rashford to find best form.
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has faced criticism after claims emerged that he was spotted at bars late on Wednesday and Thursday. The England striker was absent from training on Friday, citing illness as the reason. However, reports suggested that the 26-year-old forward had been in Belfast last week, with photographs appearing to show him enjoying a night out.
Rashford was not included in the squad for Sunday’s 4-2 victory over Newport County. When questioned about the situation, manager Erik ten Hag remained tight-lipped, describing it as an “internal matter.” In a statement released on Monday evening, the club confirmed that the issue had been dealt with internally and was now closed.
According to the BBC, Rashford has returned to training and could potentially be part of the squad for United’s upcoming Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday.
This is not the first time Rashford has faced disciplinary action this season. He was previously dropped from the side for the Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle after being spotted in a nightclub in Manchester following a 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in November.
Despite his recent struggles, Rashford enjoyed a successful campaign last season, scoring a career-best 30 goals under Ten Hag’s management. However, this season, he has only managed to find the back of the net four times as United continue to struggle to find their best form.
Nevertheless, Ten Hag remains optimistic about Rashford’s abilities, stating, “I am sure he will get there.” The manager’s faith in the striker suggests that he believes Rashford has the potential to rediscover his top form and contribute significantly to the team’s success.
