Manchester United has announced the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy as Ruben Amorim arrives.
**Amorim Ready to Embrace New Challenge at Manchester United**
In a significant shake-up at Old Trafford, Manchester United has confirmed the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the club’s new head coach. The former United striker, who returned to the club last summer to work alongside Erik ten Hag, stepped into the role of interim manager after the Dutchman was sacked in October.
During his brief tenure, Van Nistelrooy oversaw four matches, guiding the team to an unbeaten record. His leadership saw United secure victories against Leicester City in both the Carabao Cup and Premier League, as well as a Europa League triumph over PAOK. The interim period also included a hard-fought draw against Chelsea in the league.
In addition to Van Nistelrooy, coaches Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and Pieter Morel have also left the club. A statement from Manchester United expressed gratitude for Van Nistelrooy’s contributions, stating, “Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend. We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.”
The club also extended their best wishes to the departing coaches, adding, “We will confirm the full men’s first team coaching composition in due course.”
Amorim, who was officially announced as Ten Hag’s successor on November 1, is set to make his managerial debut for the Red Devils in an away fixture against Ipswich Town on November 24. The former Sporting CP boss expressed his eagerness to get started, stating, “I feel ready for the new challenge.”
On the subject of Van Nistelrooy, Amorim acknowledged the legendary status of his predecessor, saying, “He’s a legend of the club. He did a great job. I have to talk with him tomorrow (Monday). Then I will explain everything. I am very clear and I will tell you like it is. Let’s wait until tomorrow (Monday).”
As the club embarks on this new chapter, all eyes will be on Amorim to see how he shapes the future of Manchester United.
