Manchester United defeated Everton 4-0, with Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each scoring two goals, marking Ruben Amorim’s first victory in the league.
In a commanding display at Old Trafford, Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee both netted braces as Manchester United cruised to a 4-0 victory over Everton. This match marked a significant milestone for Ruben Amorim, as it was his first Premier League home fixture in charge of the Red Devils.
The scoring opened after half an hour when Rashford found the back of the net. The England international was perfectly positioned just inside the box to connect with a corner delivered by Bruno Fernandes, executing a precise half-volley that left Everton’s goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, with no chance.
Seven minutes later, Fernandes was once again the architect of United’s success. Following some relentless pressure from Amad Diallo on Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, the ball broke kindly for the Portuguese midfielder. With a deft touch, Fernandes squared it to Zirkzee, who made no mistake in doubling the hosts’ advantage.
Rashford continued his fine form just 20 seconds into the second half, scoring his second of the match. After being expertly slipped into the area by Diallo, he fired a close-range effort past Pickford, further extending United’s lead.
Diallo was instrumental in United’s fourth goal as well. Displaying tenacity, he dispossessed James Tarkowski from the Everton defence before driving into the box. He then set up Zirkzee, who calmly stroked the ball home for his second of the afternoon.
This emphatic win comes on the heels of a disappointing draw away at Ipswich Town, marking Amorim’s first Premier League victory. With this result, Manchester United climbs to ninth in the table, providing a much-needed boost to their campaign.
