Man Utd is interested in acquiring a £75m Everton defender as part of their summer reorganization, while Dortmund is considering Mason Greenwood instead of Jadon Sancho – according to reports.

In a thrilling Premier League match between Everton FC and Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park, Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton celebrated scoring his team’s second goal. The young defender’s impressive performance has caught the attention of Manchester United, who have made him one of their top transfer priorities for the summer.

According to the Mirror, Branthwaite, who is just 21 years old, is expected to become a regular for the England national team and could even be named in Gareth Southgate’s squad. Everton, aware of his potential, could demand a hefty fee of at least £75m for the player who started his career at Carlisle United before joining the Toffees in 2020.

New United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who oversees football operations at the club, has already held talks regarding summer transfer targets and has compiled a shortlist. Branthwaite is at the top of that list, having impressed United scouts and manager Erik ten Hag despite his limited experience with only 31 league appearances for Everton.

With the uncertain future of Ten Hag at United, the club is determined to pursue a bid for Branthwaite, even if a managerial change occurs. Ratcliffe is keen on investing in young, home-grown talents who can provide a maximum return on investment, especially with the stricter financial fair play rules in place. With Raphael Varane expected to leave Old Trafford and Harry Maguire’s future uncertain, United is looking to strengthen their central defense, and Branthwaite has emerged as one of the most sought-after young defenders in Europe, with Real Madrid also monitoring his progress.

In other transfer news, Borussia Dortmund may turn their attention to Mason Greenwood instead of Jadon Sancho this summer. Sancho, currently on loan at Dortmund from Manchester United, was expected to be signed permanently by the German club. However, with slim chances of that happening, Dortmund could pursue a deal for Greenwood, who is currently on loan at Getafe. Greenwood’s impressive performances, with eight goals and five assists in 26 appearances, have attracted interest from clubs like Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. United will assess Greenwood’s future at the end of the season as they consider their options.

Meanwhile, Arsenal Women have cooled their interest in signing Mary Earps from Manchester United and are now looking to secure the services of Aston Villa goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar. Arsenal had previously attempted to sign the England No. 1 last summer, but their approach was rejected. Van Domselaar, seen as one of the best goalkeepers in the sport, has a release clause of around £200,000 in her contract, making her a strong target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Lastly, Kieran Trippier has revealed an interesting story about Bayern Munich’s approach for him in January. The Newcastle defender received texts from his former teammate Harry Kane, informing him of Bayern’s interest. Trippier was surprised by the news, as he never expected a club like Bayern Munich to want to sign him at the age of 33. However, he remained committed to Newcastle and did not try to force a move. Trippier sees Bayern’s interest as a compliment and appreciates the support from Kane, who was simply checking if the rumors were true and engaging in some friendly banter.
