Man City’s hearing regarding more than 115 alleged violations is scheduled to begin in September, with a decision expected by early 2025, according to reports.

“It is frustrating,” expressed Manchester City chairman Al Mubarak as he addressed the club’s charges. The hearing, which will investigate the alleged 115 breaches of Premier League rules, is set to commence in September, with a verdict expected early next year. The Times reports that the independent commission was initially scheduled for November but has been pushed back to mid-to-late September, barring any further legal delays. The hearing is anticipated to last ten weeks, with the commission members delivering their verdict in early 2025. City’s separate legal case against the Premier League’s associated party transaction rules (APT) will also be resolved in the next two weeks, paving the way for the 115 charges hearing.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has reignited talks with Atlético Madrid for the signing of Joao Felix after their pursuit of Samu Omorodion fell through, according to The Guardian. Chelsea has engaged in discussions with Félix’s agent, Jorge Mendes, regarding a permanent deal to bring back the 24-year-old Portuguese forward. The failed negotiations with Omorodion, valued at around €50m (£43m) by Atlético, prompted Chelsea to explore other options. The potential acquisition of Omorodion, however, may not impact Atlético’s pursuit of Conor Gallagher, despite the English midfielder being spotted in Madrid last week undergoing a medical. Atlético is on the verge of announcing the signing of Julián Álvarez from Manchester City for a deal worth up to €95m (£81.5m) and had hoped to fund their move for Gallagher through the sale of Omorodion.

Newcastle United has made a third offer to Crystal Palace for defender Marc Guehi, starting at an initial £55m, reports the Daily Mail. The Magpies’ interest in the England international has been well-known throughout the summer, but an agreement on the fee has yet to be reached. The latest offer includes potential add-ons that would increase the total to £60m, but it falls short of Palace’s minimum valuation of £65m. Newcastle is determined to secure Guehi’s services and has returned with a new proposal after their second offer, believed to be around £48m plus add-ons, was rejected by Palace.

Nottingham Forest is closing in on the signing of 24-year-old winger Ramón Sosa from Argentine club Talleres, according to the Telegraph. Forest is also in search of another center forward. The Paraguay international is expected to cost Forest £11m, and the deal is likely to be finalized before the start of the new Premier League season. Forest manager Nuno has been keen to bolster his squad’s width, and Sosa is regarded as an exciting talent. Forest recently secured the signing of Portuguese attacker Jota Silva and may consider loaning him to Greek club Olympiacos if Sosa and another winger arrive before the transfer deadline.
