Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, criticizes the repetitive and uninteresting inquiries about Kylian Mbappe’s playing time.
In a recent press conference, Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique expressed his frustration with the constant questioning regarding Kylian Mbappe’s playing time. The French forward has been in and out of the team since announcing his departure in the summer.
Enrique’s decision to substitute Mbappe in recent matches against Stade Rennais and Monaco, as well as leaving him out of the starting XI against Stade Reims, has raised eyebrows. However, the PSG boss defended his choices, stating, “It’s the same music, every single week. It’s so boring. I am the manager. I make decisions every day, every week. I am going to do the same until my last day in Paris. I always try to find the best solution for my team. Maybe I am wrong, but I think I am right.”
Speculation has been rife about Mbappe’s future, with Real Madrid being the frontrunners to secure his signature. However, no official announcement has been made by either party regarding a potential transfer. Since being an unused substitute in PSG’s win over Lille in mid-February, Mbappe has only played the full 90 minutes five times in all competitions, and just once in the league.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Mbappe has continued to play a crucial role in PSG’s UEFA Champions League campaign. He scored three goals across both legs in their last-16 victory over Real Sociedad, helping his team advance to the quarter-finals where they will face Barcelona.
Luis Enrique remains hopeful that Mbappe will have a change of heart, stating, “I still hope that Kylian changes his mind. He hasn’t said anything at the moment, he can change his opinion. Let’s imagine that we win all four titles this season and that Kylian makes his decision at the last moment.. that his place is in Paris. Why not? We’ll see.”
