Lionel Messi’s upcoming intentions with Inter Miami have been disclosed, while Bayern Munich is getting ready to pursue Nick Woltemade.

Messi has ‘clear priority’ regarding MLS future

Lionel Messi’s future in Major League Soccer is becoming clearer as the 2026 World Cup approaches. With his current contract set to expire just months before the tournament, Messi is determined to lead Argentina, the defending champions, to back-to-back glory in what is likely to be his final major international competition.

The World Cup will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and reports suggest that Messi intends to remain in South Florida to prepare for the event. This decision effectively rules out any potential return to European football.

“Sources close to the situation have confirmed to AS that talks are already underway to keep Messi in pink and black beyond 2025,” the report states. “At this stage, there are no serious alternatives on the table – remaining in Miami is the clear priority for both sides.”

Since joining Inter Miami from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, Messi has made 63 appearances and found the back of the net 50 times.

Bayern prepare swoop for Woltemade

Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to secure the services of German striker Nick Woltemade from Bundesliga rivals Stuttgart. This news comes from renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Woltemade had an impressive season last term, scoring 17 goals and providing three assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. While he is also attracting interest from the Premier League, Romano insists that Woltemade’s focus is solely on Bayern.

“Nick Woltemade deal, set to accelerate as FC Bayern prepare their opening bid for the German striker,” Romano wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Woltemade’s camp rejected a new direct approach from a Premier League club this week — as he only wants Bayern. Five-year contract fully agreed.”

Abraham on the brink of Turkey transfer

Tammy Abraham is on the verge of a permanent move away from AS Roma, having enjoyed a successful stint in the Italian capital since his arrival in 2021. After spending last season on loan at AC Milan, he is now set to join Besiktas.

“Tammy Abraham is set to join Besiktas from AS Roma in a deal worth €15 million plus bonuses, sources have told ESPN,” the article reveals. “A full agreement was reached on Monday, and Abraham will move to Istanbul on a four-year contract.”

During his loan spell at AC Milan, Abraham made 45 appearances and scored 10 goals. However, the club opted against making the move permanent, leading to his return to Roma.

Duran eyes return to Europe

Florian Plettenberg has reported that John Duran is nearing a loan move to Fenerbahce from Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. Duran only joined Al-Nassr from Premier League club Aston Villa in January, where he made a significant impact under Unai Emery.

Despite his recent success, scoring eight goals in 13 Saudi Pro League appearances, Duran appears set to return to Europe. “Jhon Duran to Fenerbahce is considered a done deal,” Plettenberg stated. “The 21-year-old striker from Al-Nassr joins Fenerbahce on loan as expected. Full agreement has been reached after Jose Mourinho expressed interest, and there have been direct talks between him and Duran. Medical booked, after just six months in Saudi Arabia, Duran returns.”

Bailey released by Villarreal

Former Manchester United defender Eric Bailey has been released by Spanish side Villarreal. Bailey returned to the club in 2023 after a series of spells with The Red Devils, Besiktas, Espanyol, and a loan move to Marseille.

The Ivory Coast international spent seven years at Old Trafford, where he won the League Cup and UEFA Europa League. Now, at the age of 31, he finds himself on the lookout for a new club.
