Lionel Messi is reportedly in talks to become a part-owner of Inter Miami alongside David Beckham.

Inter Miami CF’s Argentine forward Lionel Messi received his 8th Ballon d’Or award alongside former English football player and Inter Miami’s co-owner David Beckham during the 2023 Ballon d’Or France Football award. The event showcased Messi’s incredible achievements and his impact on the MLS, where he has scored 16 goals in 19 appearances and helped Inter Miami win their first-ever trophy, the 2023 Leagues Cup.

However, there are reports suggesting that Messi’s influence at Inter Miami could extend beyond the pitch. The Sun claims that the 36-year-old could become a co-owner of the club alongside Beckham. This opportunity arises from a clause in Messi’s contract, similar to the one Beckham had when he moved from Madrid to LA Galaxy in 2007. This clause would grant Messi direct ownership in Inter Miami, allowing him to shape the club off the field.

In other news, Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva has shown interest in life at Barcelona. The Express reports that Silva has been asking his international teammate Joao Felix about the experience of playing for the Catalan giants. Although a move to Barcelona didn’t materialize last summer, speculation about Silva’s future continues. City manager Pep Guardiola highly rates the Portuguese player, but a bargain release clause in Silva’s contract could be triggered this summer, leading to a potential move abroad.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is set to offer a new contract to their promising teenager Bendito Mantato. The 16-year-old has impressed in the United academy and has been training with the first team under Erik ten Hag. The Sun reports that United values Mantato highly and wants to secure his future at the club. The new contract would include a pact for a future professional contract, highlighting the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent. Mantato, who has represented England at youth level, is considered one of United’s most promising prospects and has drawn comparisons to Bukayo Saka.
