Lewandowski’s Brace Secures Barca’s Comeback La Liga Win
Robert Lewandowski, the star striker of FC Barcelona, showcased his brilliance on the field as he celebrated with his teammate fcb23 after scoring the team’s first goal in the LaLiga EA Sports match against Deportivo Alaves at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
The match started with a shocking turn of events as Alaves’ Samu Omorodion found the back of the net just 18 seconds into the game, capitalizing on Javi Lopez’s cross. Omorodion continued to dominate the Barcelona defense, causing havoc for Jules Kounde, who struggled to contain the threat posed by the on-loan Atletico Madrid striker. In fact, Omorodion had several opportunities to extend Alaves’ lead in the first half.
However, the halftime break seemed to rejuvenate the hosts as they came out with renewed determination. Kounde, who was moved to right back, played a crucial role in Barcelona’s comeback. He delivered a well-placed cross, which Lewandowski expertly headed into the net eight minutes into the second half.
Despite the equalizer, Alaves remained resilient and were not under excessive pressure. However, their hopes were dashed when Abdal Abqar made a rash clearance attempt, resulting in a penalty for Barcelona. Substitute Ferran Torres was brought down by Abqar as he was running away from the goal. Lewandowski confidently stepped up to take the penalty, executing a stuttering run-up that deceived Alaves’ goalkeeper Antonio Sivera. The Polish striker calmly struck the ball down the middle of the goal, securing his brace and sealing the victory for Barcelona.
With this win, Barcelona maintains their pursuit of fellow Catalans Girona, as they remain within four points of the La Liga leaders. On the other hand, Alaves find themselves in 14th place in the league standings.
